The Photographer

My name is Wacky Masbad. I am a pasta lover and I’m a sucker for medium-well steaks. And from time to time, I whip up my own sandwiches of whatever food stuff I can find in my cupboard.

I’m a food lover to say the least.

I was born and raised in a little town at the foot of Mt. Apo (the highest peak in the Philippines). As of right now, I am now based in Davao City – my second home. Even if it’s the biggest city in the world (in terms of land area), it’s still as slow paced as it can be. The city life at the pace of the rural life.

I love taking pictures and have a special love towards landscape photography. If I’m not out in the mountains or at the coastline, I transform myself into an events photographer. And if I’m not dressed for the outdoors, I’m indoors shooting portraits or food.

I took up photography back in 2008 and was lucky enough to become an apprentice for two of Davao City’s well known photographers – Rhonson Ng and Jojie Alcantara. I learned the art from them after I learned the basics from my dad.
